Getting to Alanya from Antalya and Gazipaşa Airports

Two airports serve Alanya, and which one you book decides how your first holiday day goes. Short version: Gazipaşa is close but has few flights; Antalya is far but flies everywhere.
Gazipaşa or Antalya?
Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) is about 40 km from town — a 40-50 minute transfer. Antalya Airport (AYT) is roughly 125 km — 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. If the flight times work, GZP should always be first choice; the fare difference is rarely worth the time lost in transfer.
Transfer options
Private transfer: door to door, child seats on request, and the only reliable option for late-night landings. Shared shuttle: cheaper, but every hotel stop stretches the ride. Havaş/bus: the budget route; it may need a change at Antalya bus station, and two changes with luggage is tiring.
Times by hotel area (from Antalya)
West to east: Okurcalar ~1h45 · Türkler/Konaklı ~2h · İncekum/Avsallar ~1h50 · Alanya centre ~2h15 · Mahmutlar/Kargıcak ~2h30. From Gazipaşa the order flips: Mahmutlar in 25 minutes, Okurcalar in about an hour.
Practical notes
Arrange transfers in advance for night arrivals; last-minute haggling at the terminal is both pricey and tiring. Do not put your return transfer on a tour day — traffic overruns miss planes. Travelling heavy? A private transfer over a shuttle is comfort money well spent.
